AGM - Wednesday 2nd October, 7:45 pm in the School Hall

Hi everybody, from the PTA

We hope you all had a lovely summer and welcome to all our new parents and friends.

St Thomas’ PTA supports the school via lots of fundraising activities and events throughout the year and we are very fortunate to have a thriving and supportive group of parents and wider community who help us raise additional funds for our children, all of which goes to enhancing their learning, development and enjoyment during their time at St Thomas’.

Our existing committee is already busy planning events for both children and parents between now and Christmas, which will include a disco, second hand uniform sale and a Christmas event in December.

We hold our AGM and elect the new committee and officers for the coming academic year in early October and would love to welcome new members to the PTA.

Please come along to the Annual General Meeting

Wednesday 2nd October, 7:45 pm in the School Hall

Please join us at our AGM on Wednesday 2nd October in the School Hall.

It's a great opportunity to meet some other parents and join us for a cuppa or glass of wine and some nibbles!

There is no obligation to become an active part of the committee and you will find out more about the events we have run and the school projects we have supported.

We would, of course, love to welcome any new parents or carers who would like to become PTA helpers or part of the committee. It doesn't matter how much time you are able to give up (no amount of time is too small) and we are an 'equal opportunities' group - so dads are just as welcome to join us as mums! :)

Refreshments will be served from 7.45pm for an 8pm start and the formal part of the meeting does not usually last long.

Being part of the PTA is a rewarding and fun way to support your child’s school. We have recently funded new Learnpads and digital cameras to bolster the school’s IT equipment and paid for WOW! days like the Space Dome and Jungle Jonathan, as well as subsidising the cost of the coach travel for the school trips the children love going on in the Summer Term.

If you have any questions, please see Sarah Pilbrow (mum to Jimmy, now at the junior school, Jo Charles (mum to Izzy in Green Class) or any member of the committee at drop off/pick up or email us at

We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to the AGM.

Thank you!

Kind regards

Sarah & Jo.

PTA News

What we’ve raised money for, so far…

Thanks to the fantastic support we get from parents and friends of the school, we have been able to make significant donations towards the Great Change of St Thomas Project. In addition, this year we have funded the two external WOW! Days with the Space Dome and Jungle Jonathon and pledged to support the purchase of new IT equipment, the coaches for the YR & KS1 school trips and new digital cameras for use in the school. So, thank you for your continued support!

Other Events

There will also be a second hand uniform sale and a Bag2School collection this term. Dates to follow, but if you would like any second hand uniform in the meantime, please contact Gayle Ashby via Classlist or on the school runs.

Match funding

If you work for an organisation with a match funding programme, we would be really grateful

for your support. Last year match funding enabled us to boost our fundraising total by over

20%, so it really does make a difference to the projects we can support for the children.

All our committee and officer roles will be re-elected at the AGM, so if you are interested in any of the roles outlined below, please email . Nominations can be made before or at the AGM and if more than one candidate stands for a role, there will be a vote during the meeting.
