In light of the continued transmission of the Omicron variant in the local community, I am writing to reassure you of the various steps that we are taking to keep your children safe in school.
Our Covid-19 risk assessment is regularly reviewed, and as part of this we will:
Continue to ensure good hygiene for everyone.
Increase our deep cleaning of classroom areas.
Keep occupied spaces well ventilated. (We use Co2 monitors to continually assess the levels of
ventilation.)
Encourage staff to participate in daily voluntary Lateral Flow Testing.
Offer staff the opportunity to wear face masks.
Ask that adults only visit school when strictly necessary and wear facemasks during their visits.
As previously communicated can I please remind you that all pupils, staff and other adults should follow public health advice on when to self-isolate and what to do. Enclosed within the advice is information on when to self-isolate and when not to.
We would remind you that no-one should come into school if they have symptoms, have a positive test result or have been advised by NHS Test & Trace that they are a close contact of a suspected or confirmed case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19. When individuals test positive for Covid-19, close contacts are identified by NHS Test & Trace. Schools are no longer expected to undertake contact tracing. For this reason, and to protect the confidentiality of our children, we do not inform families when there are positive cases.
