Covid-19 Guidance Update

Dear Parents

I am writing to inform you that over half term, the Government updated its operational guidance to schools on Covid 19.

The schools of Woolton Hill will continue taking all the appropriate measures, in line with our Covid Contingency Plan and Risk Assessment. These measures include promoting good hygiene, maintaining good ventilation in our buildings and maintaining an effective cleaning regime.

Main points in the updated guidance include:

  • From 21 February, staff in mainstream schools will not be expected to continue taking part in regular asymptomatic testing and should follow asymptomatic testing advice for the general population.

  • In most cases, parents and carers will agree that a pupil with the key symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend the school, given the potential risk to others.

  • Pupils, staff and other adults should follow guidance on People with COVID-19 and their contacts if they have COVID-19 symptoms. This includes:

  • Contacts are no longer required to self-isolate or advised to take daily tests, and contact tracing has ended.

  • Face coverings are no longer advised for pupils, staff and visitors in classrooms or communal areas.

Please be assured that we continue to review our safety measures and will communicate with you any further changes to the national guidance.

Best wishes

Mr Paul Davies
