Home Learning

Children, parents and teachers working together is a priority for all children in the school to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Home learning is central to this enabling new learning to be consolidated or pre-learning to take place to make exciting learning opportunities for our children.

Reading is central to Home Learning and Parent Sessions are run to support parents and how children learn to read focussing on phonics. Books are sent home weekly that correspond to the child's need to ensure rapid progress is possible.  Reading books are also available on-line.   From Year 1 children also have maths home learning which is supported by a handbook and parent sessions on how maths is taught.

Various IT platforms are used including Purple Mash, Education City and Google Classrooms.  A lot however is on paper as children need to practise writing and number formation for example.
