Holocaust Memorial Day

Holocaust Memorial Day 75 Flames project

It is the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. In commemoration of this landmark anniversary, faith groups, charities and schools are coming together across the country to make their own Memorial Flames. Each one will commemorate 75 years since the end of the Holocaust, the genocide perpetrated by the Nazis against the Jews in Europe.

The Diocese, alongside all the other schools, invited us to submit a photo of children holding a candle.  These will be put onto a Peace Pole as a piece of art for the 75 flames project. Although our children are too young to learn about this, it is a privilege to take part in such an important memorial event.
