On Monday 16th November the children of St Thomas’ celebrated Diwali day. All the children dressed in their brightest clothes and we spent the day learning all about Diwali and its meaning for Hindus. The children listened to the story of Rama and Sita and made puppets to retell the story. We created some beautiful Rangoli patterns and learnt some traditional dances. We built bridges just like the monkey King did in the story of Rama and Sita. The Year 2's made some beautiful lamps using glass jars and colourful tissue paper and the Year 1 and R's made diva lamps out of clay.
