St Thomas’ Church of England Infant School is a very friendly, welcoming school with a strong Christian ethos. The Schools’ Core Value Statement ‘Journeying together in Faith and Love’ encapsulates the core values of our school. These core values are developed and embedded across the school through the values of thankfulness, truthfulness, friendship, forgiveness, , compassion and respect.
The school currently has 131 children on role aged between 4 and 7. The children in the EYFS are organised into 2 classes and the children in KS1 are organised into 3 mixed year 1/2 classes. All classes have a full time teaching assistant to support the children.
The children in KS1 are organised into year groups for maths, literacy and phonics. In KS1 the school is able to offer an additional daily literacy and phonic group.
The school has a SENCO who is employed for 2 days a week and there is an excellent programme of precision teaching and intervention programmes across the school. The SENCO also works with children in their classes and organises the Better Reading Partners Scheme across the school.
