Christmas Cards, Tags, Mugs, Bags and Tea-Towels

Thank you to everyone who ordered Christmas cards and gifts - we raised £250 for the school, and we're sure you'll agree that the children did a wonderful job with their artwork. We'd like to extend a huge thanks to the staff too for all of their help with supporting the children to create their masterpieces!

By now you should have received your cards, mugs and tags - rest assured that the other items are on their way, we hope to have them with you by the middle of next week.

Santa's Hat

Following on from the sell-out success of the Santa's Hat stall last year, we are planning to run the stall again at the Winter Wonderland on 1st December.

In your child's book bag today you should find a Santa's Hat gift bag together with instructions for how to take part. We would love for you to bring in a small gift in return for your child participating in a dress down day on Friday 24th November.

Members of the PTA will be on hand to collect your gift donations in the main playground at drop-off that morning.

Christmas Raffle Tickets

Tickets for our Christmas raffle will be coming home in book bags at the beginning of next week. We have sourced some amazing prizes this year, including two tickets to see the West End hit musical School of Rock courtesy of Lord and Lady Lloyd Webber.

We would really appreciate your support in selling and buying tickets. Should you need any more tickets, or are in a position to help the PTA sell tickets in the community, please let either Lucy Macleod (class 3) or Gemma Gittins (class 5) know.

Winter Wonderland

We're almost ready for the Winter Wonderland on Friday 1st December, and we hope that you are all able to join us for what looks set to be a lovely evening.

We've got some great stalls lined up; fabulous Christmas wreaths, scrumptious Christmas puds as well as some wonderful Christmas gift ideas. We'll also be selling mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies throughout, as well as hot dogs and popcorn for those who fancy something more filling.

We are delighted that Father Christmas will be joining us for the evening - children will be able to book a time to visit him in his grotto between 3:45 and 5:30pm. Tickets will be available on the night for £2.50 each and will include a gift.

(Please note that, unfortunately, stall holders won't be able to take any card payments on the night.)

We are still a little short of helpers on the day - if anyone is able to volunteer on the evening, please let Jo Charles (class 1) or Gemma Gittins (class 5) know.

Children's Paper Lanterns

On Friday 1st December the children will be making paper lanterns in school, which will be available to buy for a donation at the end of the school day. Each lantern will have a battery operated tealight in it and will hopefully make a lovely glow whilst the school choir sing around the Christmas tree at the Winter Wonderland event.

The Secret Gift Room - no parents allowed!

This year, we are trialling a new idea for the children at the Winter Wonderland - we'll be turning the back classroom into a Secret Gift Room for the evening - and there are no parents allowed!

Children will be able to buy secret presents for their mums, dads and siblings for £2 each and then wrap and label them without any prying parent eyes. There will be teaching staff on hand - just to supervise - of course!

The children are being told in assembly next week about the Secret Gift Room, so we thought that we would give you the heads up that they may be asking for pennies to spend.
