PTA News – 23rd November
School Disco - 14th November
Thank you to everyone who attended the PTA School Disco and special thanks to Martin
Burton for providing the disco. The children had an amazing time and we raised £1,050,
including matched funding for the school.
Winter Wonderland - 14th December
We are all busy preparing for this year’s Winter Wonderland and have lots of things
planned, including Santa’s Grotto, children’s games, local Christmas stalls, the ever popular Secret Present Room (no grown ups allowed!) and, of course, homemade cakes,
mince pies and mulled wine.
If you are able to help at the event, please can you let us know by returning the form sent
out earlier or emailing email@example.com
This year’s Christmas raffle has some fabulous prizes and the generosity and support
from local businesses has been amazing. Prizes range from theatre vouchers to see an
Andrew Lloyd Webber musical and Formula 1 signed merchandise to meals at some of
our favourite local restaurants, as well as a range of family activities and some wonderful
boxes and baskets of gifts.
The tickets will come home in book bags in the next couple of days and we hope you will
be able to sell to friends, neighbours and relatives. Please return any unwanted tickets to
the school office, where there will also be additional books of tickets available for
anybody who would like them.
The draw will take place at the Winter Wonderland event at 17.30.
Visit Santa’s Grotto at Winter Wonderland
We will also be sending out a booking form shortly for those wishing to pre-book a visit to
see Santa in his grotto at the Winter Wonderland. Last year this was a really popular
activity, so we strongly advise pre-booking if you can. We will let you know your visit time
before the event, so you can plan around it.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
Friday 30th November will be a non-school uniform day in order to fill this year’s bags
ready for the ever-popular Santa’s Hat stall at Winter Wonderland. Mrs Pearce-King has
just asked that the children wear sensible footwear.
In return, please could you put a small gift for either a boy or girl into the bag. This could
be a small toy, sweets, bubble bath, pencils etc. There will be drop off boxes in the playground on Friday morning for the bags.
Thank you for your support!
Bag 2 School Donation Day
You should shortly be receiving your Bag2School donation bag. This is a really easy and
convenient way of donating unwanted items and raising money in the process, so if you
have any old items of clothing etc you are able to donate, please bring it to school at drop
off on Monday 10th December.
Extra bags are available in the PTA box in the school office if you need any and the link
below gives a list of the items they accept. https://bag2school.com/what-we-collect
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
Non-uniform day - Friday 30th November
Bag2School - Monday 10th December
Winter Wonderland – Friday 14th December after school/early evening
If you work for an organisation with a match funding programme, we would be really grateful
for your support. Last year match funding enabled us to boost our fundraising total by over
20%, so it really does make a difference to the projects we can support for the children.
Thank you to those of you who have created your Classlist account. For those of you who have
not, please take a couple of minutes to create an account by downloading the app or visiting
classlist.com. It’s a great, secure way for us to communicate to you and for parent to parent
Thank you for your continued support! We look forward to another great year supporting the
children at St. Thomas’.
If you would like any further information on any of the items, please contact us at
firstname.lastname@example.org or have a chat to your class rep.
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JOINING THE PTA?
All our committee and officer roles will be re-elected at the AGM, so if you are interested in any of the roles outlined below, please email email@example.com . Nominations can be made before or at the AGM and if more than one candidate stands for a role, there will be a vote during the meeting.
If you haven’t yet signed up to Classlist, please do. It’s a great tool for you to easily connect with other parents across the school and, going forwards, will be the first place that the PTA announce events and updates.
